Welcome to the 10th Annual NorthEast WoodCarvers Roundup
The NorthEast WoodCarvers Roundup is a very un-structured, no pressure, carefree carving event with very few guidelines. No matter what your age, if you already carve, would like to improve your skills, or would like to learn how, come for a few quiet
days of wood carvers getting together to have a great time cutting up!!! Carving classes Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday 9 till 12 and 1 to 4 something and Thursday until 3pm. The only instructional cost would be for materials needed for the workshops. Non carving Visitors are welcome at anytime during the Roundup.
Registration for the Roundup is required when you arrive. There will be a registration table in the main building where you can register starting Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Everyone attending the Roundup must complete a "Roundup Registration" form with an "waiver of liability". As an option, individual class "sign up sheets" will also be available. You can only sign up in advance for a specific workshop once during the Roundup, you cannot sign up to repeat the same class on multiple days. However, as with any workshop, if there is an open seat at the table in the morning that hasn't been reserved in advance, you are welcome to sit in the class regardless of the number of days you have had previously. The intent of this limitation is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to sit in the class. If there is still a question regarding this issue please ask at the general meeting on Sunday night.
Classes end at 3pm on Thursday so you may travel home or stay over and relax as desired.
The 2012 program schedule will start being updated after the first of the year,
Again this year we will have the FRIENDSHIP CANE RAFFLE. If you would like to participate by making and carving your own block the size is 2 x 2 x 3 with a 3/4 inch hole (a 1/16th oversize would help ensure dowel fits). This is the most popular raffle at the Roundup. The NEWR will have some extra blocks if you forget yours. See anyoneone at the Registration table.
E-PRINTS of Honesdale will have T-Shirts available during the Roundup, one color only-$12, also carving totes.
CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM:
To take part in this activity, bring a completed ornament made of wood and ready for hanging. You will receive one ticket for each ornament that you hand in. On Wednesday at 4:30 pm, you will be able to exchange your ticket(s) for a different ornament that has been assigned your ticket number. Christine Virgilio is coordinating this event, address questions to her at woodnut @ cogeco . ca
